My Dog and I

My Dog and I…

Source of Inspiration

2015 Juni 058_1 (2)

My dog and I share
tidbits of treats
comfy bed
long walks in the floresta
games of catch and tug-of-war.

My dog and I share
love that does not end
with paw prints on clean floors
or his feeling of abandonment
when I walk out the door.

How is it that our love
has no end?
Truly we’ll always be
each other’s best friend.

I find it hard
to have the same solid bond
with people where love
seems to be wrapped in
conditions to be met
where love easily leaves
with nary a regret.

There is something about street dogs, about rescues; they have this knowing sense about them.
